A growing income tax accounting firm, IT-Master, located in Moorpark, California, USA, has deployed small servers at each of their California offices to host file and SharePoint services, providing access to important resources to their employees.
The main office and a branch office in Simi Valley will host replicating file servers, while the branch in Thousand Oaks will host the SharePoint server. Users will be able to access the SharePoint site via a web browser to fill out and save confidential documents for their customers.
The SharePoint server will have a site for an internal domain (.net) and a public domain (.org). The Accounting and Marketing departments will be able to access either, but the IT department will manage the services.
The tax company hired you as a contractor to complete the SharePoint server's web configuration. You will utilize the company's internal Microsoft certificate authority (CA) hosted at the main office to request and install a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) certificate that will cover both internal and public domains. Communication between the company client computers and the website must be secured and trusted. If users have any issues with communicating with the website, they should contact the IT Support team's distribution list via email.
