IT-Master is looking to modernize its investor relations processes by discontinuing paper reports and replacing them with an online portal. Due to financial regulations, the company must give certain details to both prospects and actual investors for them to make sound decisions. Prospects require receiving a summary prospectus that outlines the past, current, and future performance of the portfolios. Investors will want additional information showing how their investments are doing.
The investor relations portal will need different types of access based on the user: "Guest" level for summary detail, "User" level for investor detail, and "Full" level for administrative functionality. Additionally, their access to the portal needs to be secure based on their administrative level. Those users with full detail to the portal must use an encrypted network connection, while others only need an encrypted browser session. Those with user-level or higher accounts must also have multifactor authentication enabled.
The marketing team also would like to use this portal to send out email campaigns to prospects. Investors also asked for quarterly emails. However, as the investors have accounts in the portal, they only need to be emailed general or overview information. Such information is also already publicly-available, which means encryption isn't required for such overview-style emails.
Requirements
- A secure web portal that gives the right level of access based on the user group.
- A back-end database that is encrypted with the industry-expected standards.
- An email system that sends out regular, un-encrypted, prospective campaigns.
